About Counselling
Counselling provides you with the space and time to talk about your problems, worries and difficult feelings you may have in a safe and confidential environment. It can provide you with the opportunity to look at things you may want to change in your life or allow you to explore your thoughts and feelings about your experiences, in depth and at your own pace.
What we talk about in counselling will be up to you. Each session will be unique and guided entirely by what you need to bring and discuss; you may find that what you intended to bring leads into other threads as we navigate our way together.
Areas of Specialism
I have experience in working with many reasons you may seek counselliing. My specialisms include working with people with long-term illnesses and their carers (including young carers) and with young people. For many years I have worked with young carers and their families and seen the impact of long-term illness on emotional well-being of families. I hope to continue offering support in this area for people who may be struggling to come to terms with a new diagnosis. I also have an interest in working with trauma and supporting survivors to find ways to manage beyond their difficulties.

In the future... Equine Facilitated Leadership
I am qualified in Equine Facilitated Leadership, with LEAP Equine and I hope to offer this in the future.
Equine Facilitated Leadership involves working with a horse or a herd, taking part in ground work exercises, to work on building relationships, improving your confidence and self-esteem.
Horses have a heightened awareness, they are prey animals and to help them survive in the wild, they have natural instincts which sense our body language and arousal levels. Horses are authentic and their prey instinct allows them to understand what we are feeling on the inside, regardless of what we show on the outside. They provide us with feedback on our emotions, mirroring our energy and allowing us to become more self-aware.
