Walk and Talk Counselling
Walk and Talk counselling takes the counselling session out into the countryside. Mind (2018) promotes the benefit of spending time in nature to improve your mood, help your self-esteem and confidence and reduce feelings of stress and anger. How nature benefits mental health - Mind
Over the last few months of the Covid-19 pandemic I took a lot of my work outdoors and enjoyed seeing the benefits of working in an open space, surrounded by nature. I love to walk and be outdoors, I enjoy watching the changing seasons and find the sounds and smells of nature ground me to the present.
How does walk and talk counselling work?
My Walk and Talk sessions are in three different locations in the Pewsey Vale, Marlborough or the surrounding areas, allowing you to chose the space that feels right for you. We will meet at our agreed session time and location which I will provide via What 3 Words in our initial contact. You will need to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. I also advise you bring a bottle of water with you.
Our sessions will be 50 minutes of walking and we can walk between 2.5km to 4km, depending on the pace you take and whether you wish to stop during the session.
I will work in all weathers uness it feels unsafe to do so (such as strong winds, heavy rain or intense heat). If the weather prevents our session from happening I will offer the opporutnity to move to an online session, or telephone call.
